You've Got Dung!

Want to be a friend to the environment, send your Xmas cards and help elephants all at the same time? Elephant Dung paper is the snail mail correspondence tool of those in the know.

According to the folks at Elephant Dung Paper elephants each eat up to 250kg per day and produce 50kg of high paper-making quality dung. Due to a relatively poor digestion process elephants pass mostly fiber and with a bit of washing, boiling, natural bleaching, spinning, coloring, balling, sifting, drying, sanding and assembly, the odorless organic dung becomes high quality, odorless paper for everything from fancy boxes and cards to good old fashioned stationary for sending your mum a lovely note on her birthday. The Thailand based company calls it ‘The Circle of Conservation” and profits are used to help with food and medicine and support for what’s left of Thailand’s once burgeoning elephant population of more than 100,000 elephants 100 years ago and now somewhere in the neighborhood of 6000 elephants. Wrap your trunk around that!
