My Footprint
Welcome to the Osmosus Carbon Footprint Worksheet!
All of us impact the environment. Our way of living has contributed to the drastic increase in the carbon dioxide level in the atmosphere. The Osmosus Carbon Footprint Worksheet allows you to take a snapshot of how much CO2 you are emitting with your current activities, and see how changes to your activities might help lower your emissions. You can create and save as many worksheets as you want and track your progress over time. Your Carbon Footprint Score can be published to your “My Green Space” as well. See how you compare with others in your category, region and nation!
Our worksheet helps to put CO2 emissions into context. In each subtotal area we have broken the emissions down into year, month and day so you can really see how much carbon is associated with daily living. This can help you judge your impact and the impact of changes you might make everyday. You can also see the percentage of emissions associated with certain activities and that can help highlight areas where a little bit of change could make a big difference.
You'll notice that everybody starts out with some Co2 emission even before you start to enter items in the calculator. This is because beyond just the specifics of using energy in our homes, each of us shares in an amount of carbon dioxide emissions associated with the consumption of everyday living. We have taken this into account so you are able to see how things like recycling can impact your carbon emissions score.
Also, take note of the last section of the calculator. Here you can create "what if" scenarios to see what the impact of certain changes would be on reducing your carbon footprint. This way, the next time you take a snapshot of your emissions you can see if you were able to get results. It is important to note that these "what if" changes do not impact the current worksheet because they reflect changes that you are planning and the worksheet reflects the actual current energy usage and subsequent emissions. If you are already doing some of these things, the impacts are already reflected in your current results. If you make some of these changes you should see the impact the next time you use the worksheet and take a snapshot.
We hope you have fun with this and that it becomes a useful tool in tracking your goals to lessen carbon dioxide emissions and work toward greater sustainability!
